A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an enthusiastic Junior Procurement and Contracts Officer/Administrative Support to provide procurement and contract management support across a busy regulatory branch. The successful Junior Procurement and Contracts Officer/Administrative Support Officer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to extend for a further 12 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Junior Procurement and Contracts Officer/Administrative Support Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Administering and managing external consultancy contracts.
  • Undertaking procurement activities in accordance with the PGPA Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines.
  • Performing reporting and financial tracking using SAP ESS and maintaining expenditure registers.
  • Managing central inboxes, SharePoint trackers, and external-facing platforms.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders regarding submissions, evaluation timeframes and procurement queries.
  • Providing ad-hoc advice on procurement, contract management and related processes.

The successful Junior Procurement and Contracts Officer/Administrative Support Officer will have experience in the following:

  • Strong ability to work independently under general direction and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment.
