Procurement & Contracts Advisor

The Procurement and Contracts Advisor plays a key role in supporting the delivery of effective procurement and contract management services across STC. Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager, the Advisor contributes to the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, policies, and practices that align with both Victorian Government and STC requirements.

The role manages a portfolio of goods and services contracts, ensuring compliance, performance monitoring, and accurate reporting, while also supporting low to medium complexity procurement activities and maintaining records to meet probity and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sourcing strategies, tender processes, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide strategic procurement advice to stakeholders to ensure value-for-money outcomes.
  • Manage goods and services contracts, including registers, performance reports, and invoice reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant procurement records aligned with audit and governance standards.
  • Contribute to the development of procurement frameworks, policies, and operational templates.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with STC and government requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve procurement issues and drive improvements.
  • Support team initiatives and offer broader business assistance as needed.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace through active engagement in well being and safety practices.

About You:

The Procurement and Contracts Advisor play a key role in supporting the Procurement and Contracts Manager and working collaboratively with the broader procurement team to deliver value-for-money outcomes and drive continuous improvement. This position is integral to aligning procurement and contract management activities with business needs by partnering closely with project delivery teams and corporate functions. Through proactive engagement, the Advisor helps foster effective relationships that contribute to successful procurement outcomes.

Qualifications - Essential:

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, business management, law, finance, procurement or relevant discipline and/or extensive relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing goods and services contracts, including the development of effective contract management tools and reporting mechanisms, with a strong focus on process standardisation.
  • Proven expertise across the full source-to-contract procurement life cycle, including the development of sourcing strategies, market engagement, and contract award processes.
