Our government organisation is looking for a Procurement and Contracts Officer for 6 months.

Your new role

As the Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will provide expert advice and support across procurement and contract management processes. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies and probity standards, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and manage procurement systems and documentation. This role is central to building capability and delivering high-quality procurement outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising staff on procurement policies and systems
  • Supporting procurement and contract activities, including documentation and reporting
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and providing customer-focused service
  • Ensuring data accuracy and compliance across procurement platforms
  • Contributing to fraud and corruption control initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement and contract administration, including VGPB requirements
  • Experience with procurement systems (ideally SVEN) and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities
  • Qualifications in procurement, business administration, or legal studies (desirable)
  • Experience in government or customer-facing environments (desirable)
