Position Title

Farm Machine Operator

MPH Agriculture is an entrepreneurial agriculture enterprise operating a 6,000Ha Irrigated and Dryland Cropping and Livestock production business.  The position available offers the successful applicant the unique opportunity to work with a large progressive and diverse team in an agricultural environment located near Werribee / Little River, near the lifestyle experiences of Melbourne and Geelong.

Job Overview

With a can-do attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty, the successful applicant will have experience to be able to operate a range of machinery including:

  • Articulated Tractors, FWA Tractors, Telehandlers, Trucks, Forklifts and Harvesters

In addition to Machinery Operation, you will be assisting with the day-to-day general labour and irrigation requirements of the farm. This will include general maintenance, spraying, repairing, cleaning, and assisting as directed by the management team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Plant operation including tractor operations, harvesting, sowing, spray operations;
  • Seeding using auto steer & rate controllers;
  • Operation of earth moving plant (dependent upon High Risk / Industry tickets held);
  • Daily maintenance of plant, including greasing, hot and cold checks;
  • Servicing of machinery as required,
  • Farm maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities; and
  • General farm duties as required.

You will be expected to work under routine supervision either individually or in a team environment.

You will be expected to exercise discretion within your level of skill and training and be accountable for the quality of your own work subject to routine supervision.


Qualifications Required:
  • Must possess a current driver's license.
Preferred - Experience with:
  • Large articulated tractors, (300+ horsepower);
  • Horward Bagshaw air seeders;
  • GreenStar or CASE auto-steer & mapping systems;
  • Truck licence (HR or HC);
  • Forklift licence;
  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks on equipment;
  • Hardi or Goldacres boom sprays;
  • Precision planter experience;
  • Self-propelled spraying;
  • Flood irrigation experience.
  • No fear attitude of GPS and agriculture hardware/software programs
Remuneration

Full time permanent positions are available subject to successful completion of a probation period.

Rates on offer range from $33.50-$40/hr (or by negotiation subject to experience and performance).
