Talent Right is working exclusively with Rapid Spray to appoint a Southern Business Development Manager, based in Melbourne.
Rapid Spray is a proudly Australian company with over 30 years of experience designing and manufacturing liquid transport and storage solutions. Supplying farm machinery dealers, rural supply stores, and OEMs, we've built a strong presence across Australia—particularly in the agricultural and construction industries.
With significant growth and the backing of a global group, Rapid Spray is now investing further in its dealer network. We're seeking a proven field-based sales professional from the agricultural machinery or heavy equipment sector—someone who knows how to sell through dealers and enjoys the satisfaction of putting operating products into the hands of customers.
About the Role This is a hands-on, field-based BDM role covering Southern NSW (Illawarra to Griffith), Victoria, and South Australia. Based ideally in Melbourne, you'll use our Tullamarine office as your hub between regional trips.
Your focus is dealer and OEM engagement: visiting machinery dealers, spending time in the field, and working with local teams to drive product sales. Unlike consumables, these are operating products—equipment that customers put to work every day—so building long-term trust and demonstrating value is key.
Supported by our sales operations team (who handle quoting, CRM admin, and trip planning), you'll spend your time where it matters most: face-to-face with dealers and customers, strengthening relationships, and growing territory performance.
The Ideal Candidate You come from a background in agricultural machinery, farm equipment, or other capital equipment sales where the products you sell are used, operated, and relied upon in the field. You know how to:
- Manage a territory and dealer network.
- Build strong, practical relationships with OEMs and dealers.
- Thrive on autonomy while still meeting structured activity and call targets.
- Understand the relationship-driven nature of selling high-value, operating equipment.
This role will suit someone who gets their energy from being on the road, at the dealer counter, or in the paddock with end-users—seeing the product in action, not sitting behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with dealers and OEMs across Southern NSW, VIC, and SA.
- Conduct at least 12 days of face-to-face visits per month, targeting 5 dealer visits per day.
- Make a minimum of 50 outbound phone calls weekly to follow up leads and set appointments.
- Collaborate with dealers on local marketing programs, in-store displays, and product training.
- Support complex quotes and enquiries with the internal sales support team.
- Participate in monthly 2-day sales sprints for collaboration and lead generation.
- Maintain accurate CRM updates, voice notes, and follow-ups after each visit.
