About the Role:

The Smith & Co Foods Head Chef role involves overseeing kitchen operations, developing innovative menus, managing the kitchen tea and ensuring high quality food standards and hygiene. You will join our kitchen team working at our prep kitchen in Geelong as well as events in Geelong, Melbourne and regional Victoria. You'll be working closely with our team of chefs and events crew to deliver exceptional food for small to large-scale events and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development & Food Quality: Design and develop creative, high-quality menu items and specials, ensuring variety and adherence to the company's culinary standards.

·       Kitchen Operations: Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking processes, and cleanup.

·       Hygiene & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in the kitchen at all times.

·       Event Support:Running the kitchen at functions and events, ensuring the successful execution of catering services.

·       Team Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development for kitchen staff, encouraging creativity and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a professional kitchen environment for at least 3 years

  • At least 2 years' experience in a fine dining restaurant

  • Someone who's adaptable to ever changing locations and requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a great team player.
  • Previous experience in the Hospitality Industry, preferably restaurants or events.
