Ipsos is a fast-paced, modern European restaurant located in the stunning seaside town of Lorne, Victoria. A true coastal institution with over 50 years of history, Ipsos has proudly held One Hat in the Age Good Food Guide for the past seven consecutive years.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to help lead our vibrant, professional kitchen team.


About the Role

We are looking for a team player with a calm and positive demeanor, ready to step into a hands-on leadership role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all kitchen operations including prep, service, and close
  • Managing food costs, ordering, stock rotation, and waste control
  • Ensuring full compliance with OH&S, HACCP, and the Food Safety Program
  • Contributing to menu development and upholding high culinary standards
  • Rostering, training, and mentoring junior kitchen staff

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Experience with modern European or contemporary Australian cuisine
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen
  • Proven ability in menu planning, costing, and kitchen budgeting
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and OH&S compliance
  • Proficiency in stock control systems and inventory management
  • A collaborative, professional, and positive approach to teamwork

Essential qualifications & requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certification
  • Must currently be residing in Australia with full working rights (citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
