About my client

My client is a well-known, and inclusive not-for-profit organisation working alongside more than 80,000 South Australians each year. For more than 120 years, they have created positive change for South Australian communities. They help those in need find the courage to move forward through enriching their lives and uniting the communities in which they live.

With some of the best payroll and rostering systems put in place, they are now looking for an exceptional Payroll Manager to lead a team of passionate, professional payroll specialists. This is a unique opportunity for a proven Payroll Team Lead or Manager to step into and provide leadership to a high performing team in both Projects / Systems and Payroll Management.

About your role

Responsible for:

  • Leading a team of 6 in processing pays for approximately 1,200 employees.
  • Managing payroll compliance to legislative and internal compliance requirements.
  • Manage the ongoing operation of the systems including functionality, controls and security payroll system and payroll processing.
  • Recommend and implement changes to system functionality in line with changing business requirements.
  • Coordinate and test functionality upgrades and enhancements and manage their implementation.
  • Ongoing and systematic auditing of the system for assurance against relevant enterprise agreements, awards and other statutory requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training assistance and advice to users on the use of system functionality.

About your profile

The successful candidate is an experienced Payroll Leader within a large or complex business setting. You are passionate about payroll and has a knack of getting the best out of your team. You are also intrigued with payroll systems and has a good understanding of how to get the best out of various systems.

Knowledge of SCHADS award in the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded.

This role is attractive to you in terms of working in a multi-faceted Payroll Leadership role where you can utilise your Payroll Leadership, Management, Systems and Project capabilities.
