The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.

Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Management, the Unit Manager, HR Systems and Payroll Operations is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Rail Commissioner payroll services ensuring accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency across all systems and processes. The role oversees the accuracy and integrity of data within CHRIS21 and Alesco Human Resource and Payroll Management Systems, oversees compliance with relevant legislation and ensures systems operate efficiently and effectively in accordance with departmental and statutory requirements.

A key focus of the role is the provision of expert advice on complex employee information matters, including remuneration, advanced payroll calculations, workforce reporting and the interpretation and application of Awards, Acts and Industrial Agreements.

The successful candidate will have excellent people and customer service skills, exceptional attention to detail and proven experience in leading and developing staff, fostering a collaborative, responsive and high-performing team culture.

Special ConditionsThe successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check prior to employment with the Department which must be renewed every 3 years.

Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
