We're looking for a seasoned
Payroll Specialist
who's ready to step into a leadership role. Someone who thrives on solving complex problems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our payroll processes run like clockwork.
This isn't just a processing role. It's a chance to be a strategic partner, a trusted advisor, and a key contributor to the future of payroll at Adbri.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, as the second-in-charge, you'll be instrumental in maintaining operational continuity and building resilience within the team.
You'll lead by example, offering guidance on complex payroll matters, supporting system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with ever-evolving legislation.
You'll be hands-on with high-volume payroll cycles (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) while also stepping back to see the bigger picture: identifying risks, conducting audits, and shaping smarter, more efficient processes.
Whether it's preparing end-of-month reports, reconciling ledger entries, or supporting the rollout of internal process improvements, your work will directly impact the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of our payroll systems.

You're a natural communicator and decision-maker, able to work independently while fostering collaboration across teams - Technical Mastery:
You are an expert in your way around Chris21 and Excel, and you're confident in interpreting legislation - Compliance Expertise:
You understand the Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements—and you know how to translate them into practical, compliant processes - Continuous Improvement Mindset:
You're always looking for ways to do things better, whether it's automating reports, refining workflows, or enhancing data accuracy
Your Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Extensive experience in payroll operations, ideally in high-volume environments
- Proven track record in managing audits, resolving complex issues, and leading system enhancements
- Experience in the heavy industry sector is a plus, but not essential
