About The Role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a reputable organisation and oversee payroll operations for multiple subsidiaries. This role will suit a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring others, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate payroll outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly and monthly payrolls in accordance with legislation, standards, and internal procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to two Payroll Officers, including task allocation and workload coordination
  • Collect and record payroll data for all employees, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory requirements
  • Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries in line with policies and legislation
  • Prepare routine and ad-hoc payroll reports, including salaries, allowances, and payment summaries
  • Maintain accurate payroll data and administrative records in relevant systems
  • Complete year-end payroll reporting and liaise with the ATO and external stakeholders
  • Manage monthly Payroll Tax lodgements and annual group submissions
  • Support payroll account reconciliations and year-end financial reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and payroll processes

Skills And Experience Required

  • Minimum five years experience in a similar payroll role
  • Strong understanding of Awards and relevant state legislation
  • Experience with Pronto and Frontier systems highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and outcome-focused professional
