Our client, a long standing and well-respected General Physician, is seeking an experienced
Medical Receptionist/Secretary
to join the team based at the Mater Private Hospital in South Brisbane. On offer is a permanent, full-time role, 40 hours per week. On Tuesdays, the external clinic ends at 7:00pm, to compensate for this, there is a late start on Wednesday. Otherwise, hours will be between 8:30am – 5:00pm.
This small, close-knit team is excited for an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join the practice. A candidate who has previously used Genie software will be highly regarded as well as a willingness to learn the practice specific tasks.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Welcoming patients and family members to the practice (5-8 patients per clinic)
- Managing incoming correspondence via phones and emails, responding to enquiries, requests and redirecting or escalating matters as appropriate in a timely manner
- Preparing and running patient clinics, including scheduling and managing patient consultation appointments both face-to-face and via Telehealth
- Processing and receipting of patient accounts, including Medicare, DVA and WorkCover Queensland
- Reviewing clinic transcriptions using AI Lyrebird
- Liaising with various specialists and their practices as well as hospital departments
- Managing patient information and scanning into electronic medical record
- General administrative and reception tasks as required
In addition to the key duties and responsibilities, Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Have at least 2 years previous experience in a similar position (ideally coming from another private specialist practice)
- Ability to work cooperatively within a small team but also autonomously (2 days per week)
- Ability to manage the schedule of a solo Specialist
- A strong desire to provide a high level of service to the patients of the practice
- Immaculate personal presentation
- An exemplary telephone manner and a compassionate demeanour
- Must be a team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate you are proactive with strong time management and organisational skills along with the ability to prioritise your workload efficiently.
- Must be able to multi skill and work under pressure
- High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, prefer previous experience with Genie and/or Gentu software (and Eclipse billing desirable)
Remuneration
A competitive and above market salary within the range of $36 - $40 p/hour + super will be on offer to a suitably experienced candidate along with access to secure, on-site car parking.
