As one of the largest packaging companies in Australia and New Zealand, Opal Specialty Packaging provides tailored cardboard-based packaging solutions for small, medium and large businesses. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opal team as our site in Oakleigh is currently looking for a Dispatch Coordinator to come onboard

The key focus of this role will be to:

  • Plan loads to maximize fleet utilization.
  • Process interstate deliveries and ensure timely trailer loading.
  • Supervise team members, ensuring clarity in job responsibilities.
  • Coordinate resources, including managing leave and overtime.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus to achieve DIFOT targets.
  • Implement and comply with OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations (such as: ensuring the training and documentation is completed by the relevant stakeholders).
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and conduct regular stock takes.

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

  • A forklift licence and relevant experience (this is a requirement)
  • Experience working in dispatch operations (ideally leading a team)
  • Experience in using Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Keen attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
  • Strong communication skills and team player mentality
  • Prioritization and decision-making abilities
