About the role
This is a 6-month maternity leave cover position
This role provides comprehensive financial and administrative support across accounts payable, general ledger, audit, taxation, and pricing functions. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, assists in reconciliation and reporting, and contributes to cost control through freight verification and pricing support.
Key duties
- Assisting in Accounts Payable duties in both AP and ERP systems
- Monthly reconciliation of business credit cards
- Maintaining supplier accounts and verifying bank details
- Acquittal of GRNs and shipping documents against stock received, supplier invoices, and shipping reference files
- Support in resolving supplier invoice discrepancies in coordination with the Procurement and Warehouse teams
- Provide support to the Costing Accountant and Warehouse team in reviewing and confirming the profitability of the shipment based on the quoted freight
- Assist in maintaining and updating product pricing in the ERP system (Syspro), ensuring pricing accuracy and timely updates
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the Finance Manager
- Manage monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts
- Prepare and post journals for month-end and year-end closing (including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments)
- Prepare Fixed Asset Reconciliation Journals and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Support the Head of Finance with trademark-related financial documentation and updates
- Assist during year-end audits, liaising with external auditors and providing required documentation
- Maintain proper audit trails, ensuring supporting documents are organised and accessible
- Support the Finance Manager with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) data collection and analysis
- Compile data for and assist in the preparation of the Business Activity Statement (BAS) for subsidiary entities
- Perform ad-hoc compliance and reporting tasks as assigned by the Head of Finance
- Other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager
About you
- Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, and ERP systems (Syspro experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
