Pippa's Kitchen is looking for an experienced Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a production-style kitchen and understands the pace and precision required to deliver high-quality ready meals consistently.
About the Role
As our Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager, you will work closely under the two owners/chefs and play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You'll lead production, support kitchen operations, and step up to manage the kitchen in the owners' absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily meal production with a strong focus on consistency and quality
- Assist in managing overall kitchen operations
- Maintain and enforce food safety and compliance standards
- Delegate tasks and manage workflow efficiently
- Cook to a high, consistent standard
- Lead, motivate and support a small kitchen team
- Uphold excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and prep
- Liaise with head chef to ensure smooth operations and production planning
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a production kitchen (ready-meals experience highly beneficial)
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to prep and cleanliness
- Confident leadership with the ability to run the kitchen when required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under direction
- Ability to manage time, staff and tasks effectively
- A calm, reliable and professional presence in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food safety requirements
