We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial, industrial, health, data centre and infrastructure electrical projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare electrical estimates.
  • Conduct site inspections and liaise with project stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, and tender submissions.
  • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to achieve project goals within budget.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of costs, suppliers, and historical project data.
  • Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.

Key Requirements

  • Trade qualification or tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an electrical estimating role, ideally within the commercial, health or data centre sectors.
  • Experience with Design & Construct (D&C) projects
  • Familiarity with commercial, data centre or health projects. (Preferred but not essential)
  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, building codes, and local market pricing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
