
Junior Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets. The ideal candidate has strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and experience in cost estimation, preferably in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Consult with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors to clarify project details and scope.
- Calculate direct and indirect costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Use estimating software and tools to compile data and create reports.
- Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor project costs during implementation to compare with original estimates and provide updates.
- Maintain an organized database of historical cost data and estimation templates.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and assess risks involved in potential projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar role (2–3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of estimation techniques and cost control.
- Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Groundplan, Google drive, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Typically office-based with occasional visits to job sites.
- May be required to meet tight deadlines or work extended hours during bid periods.
