About the Role

We are seeking an experienced defence Talent Acquisition Specialist who is baseline security cleared (or has the ability to obtain a baseline security clearance, so Australian Citizenship is a must) to assist our Melbourne based defence RPO client with their technical defence recruitment.

Our experienced Defence specialists across Australia combine their unparalleled market insight with a vast network of connections, developing deep pools of engaged talent for our client's key and critical permanent roles. Stakeholder management, relationship building and a strong defence sourcing/head hunting capability are crucial factors for your success in this permanent role. This is an exciting opportunity where you will thrive from the challenges presented to you. Your daily tasks include:

  • Further develop your defence recruitment and market knowledge
  • Deliver to client expectations, recruiting roles such as ILS Managers, Project Managers, Engineers and Commercial specialists.
  • Accountable for the complete end to end (360) recruitment process including but not limited to;
  • Sourcing and qualifying a variety of defence candidates suitable for current vacancies, run accurate and comprehensive job briefs with Hiring Managers using such methods as databases searches, job board advertising and social media networks, screening and interviewing candidates (telephone, video or face to face), assessing work rights and clearances, arranging interviews with clients, salary information, reference checking, negotiating salaries and managing the expectations of candidates and clients

To be successful you will need to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years local experience in defence recruitment
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and ideally already hold a baseline security clearance, if not have the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to meet KPIs set by your manager
  • Persuasion & influencing skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Solid organisational skills
  • Possess that drive and hunger to succeed and ability to recruit niche defence roles
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • You will be flexible and agile, solutions focused, ambitious, honest, resilient and a general high energy go getter
