The Opportunity
We have an exciting Full-Time opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne. Based out of our Thomastown Store and supporting our Company Store Network, this is a hybrid role where you'll drive growth by developing new business, strengthening client relationships and grow our B2B and commercial sectors.
To succeed, you'll bring energy, passion and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
The Role
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Business Development Manager will:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the commercial and retail flooring markets to expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders across Victoria.
- Support stores by developing tailored solutions with clients to assist in achieving revenue and gross profit.
- Provide reporting, analysis and insights on market activity and business performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams regarding sales and client/customer needs.
- Represent Flooring Xtra with professionalism and commercial acumen.
About You
We are seeking a sales professional who brings:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within retail, building products or construction-related industries.
- A proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivering results.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Strong ability to prospect, negotiate and close deals.
- The ability to manage your own pipeline with discipline and focus.
- Commercial acumen and confidence working with KPIs and sales reporting.
- High level of self-motivation, organisation and accountability.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM Systems).
