Based at our office in our Altona Head Office, we currently have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Quality Control Officer to join our innovative team at Prolife Foods, this would suit someone with proven experience as QC Officer in the food manufacturing industry. We are looking for a process motivated individual with great attention to detail. This role will see you reporting to the QA Manager.

This is a busy role, so you will find yourself needing to be flexible with interruptions and constantly changing priorities. You will need to be accurate with numbers and have excellent written and oral English. Finally, you will need to be confident in your computer skills (requires use of email, streamline, Microsoft office suite, SCE, powerapps).

The Opportunity:

In this hands on role, your responsibilities will be included (but not limited to):

  • Conduct daily product assessment including End of Life assessment.
  • Assist in product sampling for lab testing.
  • Undertake daily QC and Pre-op checks Verifications
  • Working closely with stakeholders regarding QA matters
  • Verification of production QA related paperwork.
  • Check the inward papers (CoAs/ CoCs) and release products in a timely manner.
  • Follow up MLOR and Shelf Life Extensions requests.
  • Educate and support the team to understand Food Safety & Quality requirements to develop a workplace culture that maintains high standards of food manufacturing performance and compliance.

Who we're looking for:

Intermediate computer skills and MS Office skills

  • Have the desire to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Have high Energy, highly motivated and sense of urgency.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Sound administration and organisational skills with proven ability to independently manage competing priorities.
  • ability to work independently and co-operatively in a team environment.
  • Be a proactive team player, who doesn't wait for the next task.
  • Having a science qualification or FMCG work experience is an advantage.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Officer in the food manufacturing industry.
