Overview Northern Region Underwriting Manager, Casualty is primarily responsible for managing Arch Australia's Casualty portfolio and Underwriting staff (UW) for the Northern Region (NSW and QLD). The role underwrites and manages a profitable book of Casualty business within the Northern Region market in accordance with Arch's written underwriting guidelines. It works closely with the Underwriting Manager- Casualty, Regional Manager and line Underwriters of all classes to develop and execute the team's operating strategy to achieve annual and long-term performance goals. As a senior member of Arch's business in Australia, the role is responsible for raising Arch's visibility and standing in the Northern Region marketplace through productive marketing efforts, product development and the writing of profitable new and renewal business.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities Underwrite new and renewal Casualty business in accordance with allocated underwriting authority level.
Achieving planned underwriting results for new and renewal business and identifying requirements to meet the Region's business needs.
Leading and managing a team of Region Casualty underwriters and ensuring compliance with all business policies and procedures.
Accountable for the Casualty Region Growth Strategy.
Responsible for Casualty's Region distribution strategy.
Provide monthly End of Month Reporting on the Region Casualty book.
Provide input for the Region for the Arch Australia Line of Business Review.
Attend calls and meetings with local and group managers in London, as required.
Ensure accurate entry of submissions, quotes and bound policies and recording of underwriting information in Arch's underwriting systems.
