**Our Team & Opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of Internal Controls and joining a broader team of Finance and Internal Control professionals, the Internal Controls Assurance Manager will actively work across the organization and will lead a team of risk and control professionals to execute the assurance program across Vanguard Australia.

**What you will do**
- Manages the execution of the risk-based testing program across divisions. Monitors controls and ensures the effective operation of the control framework. Recommends and implements actions to increase effectiveness.
- Manages the efficiency, effectiveness and change impacts of the assurance team. Sets measurable goals and identifies ways to consistently raise standards, improve quality, and improve overall performance of the team
- Leads the development and distribution of management reporting data. Manages the documentation of findings and maintains reporting results. Develops risk metrics, dashboards, and reports that are distributed regularly and can be used to identify potential risk mitigation opportunities as well as monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation activities.
- Builds strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with the department and management in sharing best practices regarding key controls to influence and effectively communicate control solutions to all appropriate parties.
- Serves as escalation point for the team in providing consultation, facilitation and analytical support on complex control-related issues, and ensures internal controls are properly aligned and implemented.
- Provides education and leadership to crew around control issues to create awareness, education, and compliance.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

**What are we looking for**
- Proven experience for the leadership and development of crew
- Strong knowledge of operational aspects of the funds management and superannuation industry
- Demonstrated experience in a risk/assurance related role within a Financial Services organisation or professional services firm would be highly regarded
- Strong understanding of control methodology and frameworks
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to independently handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across functional departments within a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management; proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders across the business including senior management
- An open, flexible, and team-oriented personality, with the ability to think and act independently
