As the Lead, Credit Assessment you will lead one of the credit assessment teams within the Business & Private Bank (B&PB) Fastlane assessment function that perform a range of Credit assessment activities to ensure customer information submitted by B&PB Bankers is accurate and in accordance with policies. This is a key role to ensure responsible lending obligations are met prior to sending through to FQ or ECLAF for assurance checking.
**Day to day responsibilities**:
- Manage team performance through;
- Operational Excellence - Conduct daily (buzz), weekly (team meetings) and monthly (business update) performance conversations with team to celebrate success, communicate effectively, plan, drive performance, capture feedback and problem solving, and focus on people.
- Monthly performance chats with team members - review of metrics and tracking against goals, future-focused conversations that set SMART goals.
- Provide regular coaching (in the moment and structured) based on observations obtained through the completion of Key Service Metrics - a combination of side by side and hindsight process confirmations, and listening to phone calls / observing communications
- Empower team to resolve errors at point of detection to minimise customer delays
- Establish and sustain a customer centric culture focused on taking ownership and continually improving the customer service experience
**About you**:
- Operational leadership experience - leading customer service team of 12 direct reports including delivering customer centric results and achieving business goals
- Experience within the world of B&PB - Ideally lead experience
- Be passionate about leading and developing a busy team with varied levels of experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in complex and ambiguous environments
- Strong team player along with the ability to work autonomously
- A tertiary qualification in a related discipline/ experience and knowledge in the credit and risk functions is desirable.
