A new role has become available within our Trading and Treasury Risk (‘Risk’) team for a Credit Risk Lead. The Risk team is primarily responsible for implementing risk management and control processes to act as an effective second line of defence to manage risk from wholesale energy Trading (Front Office) and Treasury’s activities.

What you’ll be doing

Key purpose of the role is to:
- Set the vision for the credit risk team ensuring it is aligned with AGL’s strategic direction and industry best practices.- Represent the credit risk team and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Lead the credit risk team in performing the below activities:
- Assess counterparty credit worthiness initially and on an ongoing basis.-
- Assess contract measures to mitigate credit risk exposures.-
- Develop and implement appropriate credit risk analytics and prepare management reporting-
- Contribute to the management of counterparty default if it arises-
- Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on new counterparties to ensure compliance with Anti-money Laundering, Australian Financial Service License and other relevant regulations.-
- Continually assess and enhance processes to adapt to evolving market conditions, regulatory changes and emerging risks.- Negotiate International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Master Agreements on behalf of Trading and Treasury business units.- Contribute to the re-design of systems that impact this role.- Supervise staff, monitoring work progress, ensuring quality and compliance.- Build and maintain proactive and effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the table- Minimum 5 years experience in credit risk management- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review financial statements, interpret complex data and make informed decisions.- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy while understanding the broader context- Strong, proactive consultation and relationship building skills with stakeholders- Ability to deliver to tight daily deadlines on an ongoing basis while managing a diverse range of competing priorities- Ability to identify and escalate issues on a timely basis- Excellent communication and presentation skills- Experience in the energy industry or financial services markets
