Budget Analyst needed to join a State Government Department

**Your new company**

A State Government Department is looking for an Budget Analyst to join their team. This role requires you to work full-time hours, on an initial temporary basis.

**Your new role**
- Develop, implement, monitor and review budget allocation model and processes
- Support the development of the departments strategic initiatives and budget strategy
- Manage a portfolio of internal customers by providing expert advice and support
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of the departments input to budget-related processes
- Prepare and present periodic and ad hoc resource allocation, budgeting and other management reports
- Manage the collection, collation and analysis of complex financial and related data and statistics
- Provide expert advice and support the development and implementation of finance strategy
- Contribute to the continuous improvements of resource allocation models and budgeting
- Represents the department financial initiatives and committees
- Other duties as required

**What you'll need to succeed**
- High level interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a finance environment
- Experience in the extraction, analysis and interpretation of complex financial and statistical datasets
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions and use initiative
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
