The Finance Team supports the mission of the Organisation by providing a high quality, end-to end, flexible and responsive financial management and advisory service.

**The Role**
The Forecasting and Budgeting Analyst will report into the Manager of Financial Performance Support, you will be responsible for the end to end budgeting & forecasting consolidation process for the whole multi-million dollar organisation including report preparation and presentation as well as the development and value add to planning models. You will provide analytical insights to help mitigate any risk and assist in preparing long term financial planning. The role involves working closely with various teams across the Business.

**Key Duties**
Your duties will include but not be limited to:

- Coordinate, consolidate and review the Organisation’s budget and forecasts, including commentary and analysis for submission to Executives.
- Understand and provide advice on the planning models and underlying business drivers, contribute to changes and use of multiple analytical tools to validate assumptions and outcomes. Ensure the integrity of the data within the budgeting and forecasting models and systems.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data (including costing models) to develop driver-based planning insights, what if scenarios and project long term financial impact.
- Collaborating with the Manager to streamline and improve the budgeting and re-forecasting process.
- Assist in the design and preparation of management reports and presentations with detailed analysis on financial performance against budget and forecasts with clearly defined key performance indicators.
- Assist with the analysis, interpretation and projection of revenue and expenditure; identifying key trends and modelling the impact of budget risks, possible mitigation strategies and opportunities to maximise strategic investment.
- Contribute to the planning, management and effective implementation of continuous improvement and benchmarking activities related to financial management practices and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Finance teams on setting budget assumptions ensuring appropriate controls within Hyperion are in place to reflect those agreed.
- Participate in a team based consultative supportive environment which supports, assist and provides training and shares knowledge and skills with other team members to ensure sustainable service levels and continued learning and development within the team.
- Establish, maintain and develop internal controls, key performance indicators and documentation relating to team duties in accordance with approved policy and operating standards.

**About You**
As an ideal applicant, you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline combined with a CA/CPA/CIMA etc.
- Experience in financial planning for large organisations with multiple funding arrangements and a large labour force would be considered favourably.
- Highly developed analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in balancing big picture with financial accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in co-ordinating, preparing and monitoring complex consolidated budgets, forecasting and income/expenditure management.
- Highly developed reporting and communication skills, including the ability to relate to diverse groups within the Organisation and externally
- Experience using Oracle-based enterprise system solutions and Hyperion for planning is desirable
