**Role Summary**:
The Forecasting Analyst is an exciting opportunity in our Pricing and Performance team within Customer Business Unit (CBU) based at our Perth CBD office.
The Forecasting Analyst supports CBU with strategic and commercial decision making through electricity demand and revenue modelling and analysis. The role is critical to the Synergy residential and commercial electricity consumption planning for the State budget and internal budget.
**Key responsibilities of the role include**:
- Develop, maintain and operate demand forecasting models for Customer BU that improves accuracy and enables the team to evaluate risks and opportunities.
- Present modelling results in a non-technical manner to support leadership decision-making, giving recommendations on expected scenarios and financial value.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to deliver forecast electricity demand and revenue for the State Budget Forecast (SBF) and Manage to Budget (MtB).
- Critically review modelling assumptions and ensure they reflect Customer BU, Synergy and wider electricity market expectations.
**What you’ll bring**:
- Tertiary qualifications in data science, finance, economics, mathematics or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in targeted financial or economic analysis and modelling to solve complex business problems.
- Proficiency with modelling tools and scripted languages (e.g. R, Python, SQL), accompanied by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to present complex economic and financial information in non-technical manner to enable data-driven insights and fact-based decision making
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop, influence and maintain positive working relationships.
