**About the role**:

**As a Business Analyst your role will entail, but is not limited to**:

- Produces datasets, analyses and reports for decision making
- Contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of data assets and reports.
- Designs and develops robust data models, supporting documentation and processes to meet BI requirements.
- Facilitates efficient data usage and analysis, informing stakeholders about patterns, trends and insights.
- Aids in driving fact-based operational decisions.
- Provides support across various functions, including annual budgeting, forecasts, variance analysis and data modelling.
- Conducts labour and revenue analysis, costings and contributes to business cases.
- Takes ownership of the activity and statistics reporting function.

**What we are looking for**
- Minimum of **4 years proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst**, involving the collection, structuring and analysis of data.
- Possess tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting/data science/statistics.
- High level of proficiency working in data analysis tools including Python, SQL and visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial modelling.
- Practical experience in working with and managing data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) and similar processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively describe problems and findings, and present insights to various audiences (technical and non-technical) using visualisation tools.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, demonstrating conceptual and analytical ability within a large organisation with complex data structures.

**Your primary responsibilities include**
- **Reporting function Ownership**: oversee and manage the daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting of activity and statistics.
- **Budget process involvement**: Play a pivotal role in the preparation and delivery of the annual budget process.
- **Analysis and Modelling**: Conduct analysis and modelling for development and capital cases as needed.
- **Technology transition**: Facilitate the transition reporting to Microsoft Power BI.
- **Forecasting**: Prepare monthly activity forecasts.
- **SQL Query Reports Development**: Develop SQL query reports, embedding/connecting of SQL into excel based reports and Power BI Dashboards as required.
- **Month-end support**: Assist the accounting team at month end as required to prepare the financial result and analyse the financial result and activity trends.
- **Critical Analysis and review**: Provide ongoing critical analysis and review of activity and financial trends to offer valuable insights for decision making.
- **Data Extraction and Processing**: Extract, process and clean data from multiple sources to create actional insights.
- **Cross-Departmental Collaboration**: Collaborate with various departments to understand and analyse data needs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Implement ongoing process and reporting improvements as necessary.
- **Ad Hoc Financial Tasks**: Ad hoc financial modelling or tasks as required.

**Remuneration: On offer is annual salary ranging from $130,000 + **superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
