**Your new company**

This Government Department is responsible for providing disability-based services to the community and are looking for multiple Payments Officers for their CBD Office.

**Your new role**

The Payments Branch provides support and guidance to providers delivering services to participants. As a Payments Officer, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the internal system and participant portals. The branch processes manual payments to providers and self-managed participants. Your responsibilities will also include:

- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
- Working to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Contribute to decision-making within the team/work area.
- Consistently meet team and individual work resolution targets.
- Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks.
- Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines and regulations.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in working within an environment that follows strict compliance guidelines and legislation
- Resilience and adaptability
- Ability to deal with at times confronting and complex situations
- Sound judgement and ability to work with a degree of independence within tight timeframe
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- An empathetic nature and ability to work with vulnerable people
- Experience working in financial services, banking, customer service or the disability sector will be looked upon favourably
