**Your new company**

This government office provides essential administrative and financial services to all state government departments and agencies. Due to increased activity resulting in multiple vacancies, we are currently seeking resilient Collection Officers to commence immediately in 3-month contract roles.

**Your new role**

As a Collections Officer, you are responsible for providing customer service in an inbound call centre environment and arranging payments from those who have fines or debt owing to the state. Working together with the customer, you will:

- Confirm debt balance
- Arrange, receive and process payments
- Set up a payment plan in an effort to pay off balance
- Update customer contact details
- Lodge a dispute

**What you'll need to succeed**

Proven previous experience in a high volume, customer service environment will be needed for this position, as well as:

- A recent National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to use multiple systems
- A resilient yet empathetic attitude and ability to de-escalate a tense situation
- Being able to work under pressure in a high-volume setting

**What you'll get in return**

This is a 3-month contract with a view for extension. We are offering competitive hourly rates and full-time office hours (Monday to Friday) in a well-known government office located in a northwest suburb. Extensive training will also be provided.
