**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager Procurement and Supply Chain to join the team at Somerton. Reporting to the Executive General Manager Supply Division, your key focus will see you responsible for managing the company's Procurement and Supply Chain purchasing business on an end-to-end basis. This includes responsibility for range and SKU identification, order placement, both current range replenishment and expansion range, purchasing outcomes verses stocking targets, and supplier performance against set KPI’s with the goal to optimize parts sales and commercial outcomes for ACM Parts both internally and externally. In addition, this role has overall oversight over ACM Parts Recycling operations.

This position will see you have strong and in-depth ability to research and analyse data to provide insights into key revenue categories together with the ability to define, develop, and plan long term strategies to enhance the parts range, inventory profile and mitigate obsolescence will be critical.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Manage 4 direct reports
- Drive inventory outcomes across internal and external channels
- Analyse data for insights to determine trends regarding the product and category
- Create and develop a strategic long-term plan for the development and growth of each range category
- Manage inventory levels to meet demands, including forecasting for individual SKU level demand trends, both short and long term, for both AMA group internal use as well as for external sales
- Regularly review product line profitability for each external customer/market
- Develop an exit strategy for unsuccessful product SKU’s
- Support the building and driving of relationships with key customers, both internal and external, and vendors to improve pricing and quality of services
- Develop best practice benchmarks for product usage at AMA group / site level
- Create forecasts for product demand to ensure sustainability of inventory across the full ACM parts ranges
- Support budget development and revenue for each category
- Research competitors and suggest appropriate actions and activities to mitigate competitor activity
- Develop, coach, train and mentor staff to provide ongoing continuity of performance at a sustained high output level.
- Ensure the teams maintain productive working relationships with other functions especially sales and operations.
- Ensure operations structure and resourcing is fit to achieve organisational goals and strategies.
- Take a holistic approach to ensuring ACM’s recycled operations are optimised, including initiating, and supporting any improvements of process and procedures
- Lead and effectively manage all third-party supplier contracts in the Recycling business, including Export opportunities, to ensure the effective delivery of the agreed services to the agreed service levels.
- Maximise Export opportunities for vehicle components and scrap where required
- Assist EGM and Senior Managers in other areas of responsibilities where needed with special projects.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance and Commercial Teams

**Does this sound like you?**

**Required knowledge and experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent field or equivalent experience
- A proven Procurement and Supply Chain leader, with an ability to establish, grow and drive required outcomes
- In-depth understanding of vehicle car parc and parts supply chain into Australia and New Zealand
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a complex OEM or dealer group-based environment, with operational knowledge of procedures and best practices (desirable)
- In depth understanding of the vehicle recycling industry within Australian and abroad (desirable)
- Hands on experience with vehicle parts management software and databases
- Strong understanding of distribution models and best practice
- Expert level knowledge of forecasting, demand and inventory management systems
- Understanding of product cost and margin principles
