**The opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced Expeditor and Material Planner to join our ever-growing team based in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs. In this role, will be responsible for managing the source and flow of materials whilst developing and maintaining relationships both internally and externally to support the production plans.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage the source and flow of materials, while monitoring performance to ensure that materials are available in line with the agreed supply plan and material planning targets are met.
- Procurement of both local and imported consumables, raw material and sub-components.
- Follow up on PO's, expedite PO's within lead times, and maintain open PO's in our system to ensure correct expected delivery dates.
- Manage planning to date to ensure stock levels are optimised to support the production plan.
- Develop relationship with vendor contacts so they understand what you need and when you need it
- Resolve supply issues and queries promptly and to intervene and escalate where required
- Provide forecasts and reports to management.
- Have cross-functional responsibilities to ensure that the business has accurate and timely information available to support the production planning function thereby ensuring that customers are abreast of latest delivery expectations.

**What we are looking for**
- Diploma or higher in any discipline preferred
- Previous experience in supply chain and inventory management
- Proficient computer skills & knowledge in MRP, SAP and MS Excel as well as a sound working knowledge of purchasing/supply systems
- Have good problem-solving skills, be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills and be able to work cross-functionally;
- Have strong levels of resilience, able to work under pressure with little supervision, drive for results and quality oriented.
- Attention to detail with strong numeracy, verbal & written communication skills
- Well organised and an ability to carry out defined tasks and responsibilities
- Able to meet deadlines and organise work priorities as directed
- Well-developed written and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical, research and evaluation skills, including the ability to identify and implement strategies for improvement.
