**Who are we?**

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it’s an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future.

The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over four million visitors annually. The MCC is the largest sporting club in the country with over 150,000 members and also manages 14 sporting sections with participation over 2,600. The Australian Sports Museum (ASM) has its home at the MCG, celebrating the country’s rich sporting history, which is also managed by the MCC.

**About the team and role**

The Commercial Operations & Partnerships Department is responsible for the MCC’s marketing initiatives, communications, publicity, issues management, community partnerships, corporate sales, business development, advertising, merchandise and commercial arrangements with sponsors, suppliers and partners.

We are currently seeking an experienced **Brand and Marketing Manager** to join the team on a **12-month maternity leave cover contract**. Reporting to the Executive Manager - Corporate Affairs, Marketing & Community, the role is responsible for creating and delivering a marketing program aligned with the creative brief, promotional calendar, and key brand moments.

This role oversees the delivery of a consistent brand experience across all owned and paid channels and manages the function to respond to internal briefs, ensuring all activity aligns with brand guidelines and the campaign calendar. It also leads, mentors, and supports a small, high-performing team (two direct reports).

**Responsibilities that you will also lead & be involved in**(however not limited to)**:

- Support the EM to lead and manage the whole of business brand strategy, ensuring the MCC, MCG and Australian Sports Museum brands are reflected in the way we do business and at every customer touchpoint
- Develop and oversee the delivery of marketing and brand campaigns to support key business products including key tourism products Australian Sports Museum, MCG Tours, MCG Network, Premium Experiences and amplifying the work of MCG Events
- Collaborate with the Digital Communications and Publicity streams to drive campaign content, messaging, and channel executions
- Manage the marketing budget
- Create reports to track and measure marketing campaigns success and identify improvements

This role also has high visibility and liaises across the business and with key partners and stakeholders, including AFL, Cricket Australia, special event providers, MCG tenant clubs and the MCC’s commercial partners to support cross-promotional opportunities.

Please note this role may be required to work outside of normal business hours aligned with the MCG’s event day support system and on other activities that form a part of this role.

**You will bring to this role**

It is essential that you have previous experience working as a Brand and Marketing Manager in an aligned industry or have worked for a national well-known brand. You will also need to be a collaborative leader that has great drive and inspires others to achieve the delivery of the strategic goals across a marketing and brand function. You will have a proactive, respectful approach to your work, with a natural ability to develop meaningful and strong working partnerships/ relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you will have demonstrated excellent presentation skills and have well-developed communication skills both written & verbal with a strong ability to convey information orally to others in a clear, succinct and effective manner.

It is also important you have:

- An ability to act with sound judgement, demonstrating the capacity to calmly and astutely assess situations and formulate appropriate actions in a well-considered manner.
- Previous experience managing a small team.
- Flexibility to work an event day roster and outside of working hours when required.

Highly regarded:

- Previous experience working in a membership organisation or across the major events and sports industries

**Qualifications**

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or Business.
