- Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.
- An opportunity exists at our central laboratory in Collingwood for a qualified Scientist or Technician with experience in embedding, microtomy and special stains, to join our hard working team.
- The successful applicant must be quality focused and conscientious, with high attention to detail, problem solving capabilities, good communication skills, and be a team player.**Position requirements**:

- AIMS recognised Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Medicine, BAppSc (MLS), Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent international qualification
- Extensive practical experience in a routine high-volume diagnostic histology laboratory, including embedding and microtomy
- A sound knowledge in tissue processing, routine and special staining
- Experience in cryomicrotomy, IHC and non-complex cut-up would be an advantage, but not essential
- Participation in relevant continuing education activities to maintain an awareness of developments in Histopathology
- The ability to work independently as well as a part of a large, busy and fun team to achieve the daily laboratory goals is essential.

This position is a permanent full-time (38 hours per week) with flexible start time and working days, optional weekend day, and includes shift allowances, and up to five weeks annual leave.- Confirmation of your current residency and right to work in Australia
