An opportunity exists at our central laboratory in Collingwood for an enthusiastic, self-motivated qualified Scientist or Technician with experience in non-complex cut-up to join our hard working dissection team. The successful applicant must be quality focused and conscientious, with high attention to detail, problem solving capabilities, good communication skills, and be a team player.

**Position requirements**
- AIMS recognised Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Medicine, B App Sc (MLS), Diploma of Laboratory Technology or

equivalent international qualification
- Evidenced knowledge and competency in non-complex gross cut-up and fresh tissue triage in a routine high-volume diagnostic histology laboratory
- A sound knowledge in tissue processing
- Participation in relevant continuing education activities to maintain an awareness of developments in Histopathology
- Capability to make decisions and solve problems with respect to handling fresh tissue specimens
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a large, busy and fun team to achieve the daily laboratory goals is essential

The position is permanent full-time rotation (38 hours a week) with optional weekend day, includes allowances for **cut-up** and **afternoon shift**, and up to **five weeks annual leave.**
