Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing a high quality healthcare service to our clients, 24 hours a day/7 days a week throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

A great opportunity exists at our central laboratory in Collingwood for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Scientist or Technician with experience in embedding, microtomy and special stains to join our dedicated team. The successful applicant must be quality focused and conscientious, with high attention to detail, problem solving capabilities, good communication skills,
and a team player.

**Position requirements**
- AIMS recognised Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Medicine, B App Sc (MLS), Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent international qualification
- Extensive practical experience in a routine high-volume diagnostic histology laboratory, including embedding and microtomy
- A sound knowledge in tissue processing, routine and special staining
- Experience in cryomicrotomy, IHC and non-complex cut-up would be an advantage, but not essential
- Participation in relevant continuing education activities to maintain an awareness of developments in Histopathology
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a large, busy and fun team to achieve the daily laboratory goals is essential

The position is permanent full-time (38 hours a week) with flexible start time and working days, optional weekend day, and includes shift allowances, and up to 5 weeks annual leave.
