**The Role**

We are seeking a driven, organised and motivated Work Health & Safety Administration Assistant to join and support our growing WHS team, you will also ensure that health and safety standards are continuously planned, promoted, and monitored across the organisation and are in line with both state and federal legislation/regulations.

The WHS Admin Assistant has responsibility for implementing and promoting Discovery Holiday Parks WHS Safe Systems of Work and supporting ISO9001 Quality Management System with our accredited parks.

As a Trainee we will support you in completing a Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety, whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities of the WHS Officer will include but are not limited to:

- Day to day management of Discovery Parks Hazard Incident Management System (HIMS).
- Following up on incidents and hazards reports with park staff.
- Facilitating incident investigations with Park Managers identifying cause, actions, and preventative measures.
- Support all levels of staff with the implementation and compliance of safety and wellness programs.
- Review, evaluate and upgrade WHS documentation including risk registers, policies, procedures, forms, and guidance material to ensure they are effective, current, and compliant with relevant legislation.
- Assist with the workers compensation and return-to-work programs when required.
- Provide training and guidance to staff in the implementation of WHS Management Systems.
- Support managers through the provision of advice when they are conducting investigations and risk assessments.
- Maintain statistics and provide data reports as required.
- Continually develop self-knowledge with current WHS legislation and other relevant laws, regulations, codes of practice and Australian Standards.
