**The Role**
The Hydrographic System Program Office (HSPO) Configuration Management system supports the management of seaworthiness and the provision of logistics support for the Hydrographic and Army Marine capabilities. The Configuration Officer works to the EL1 Configuration Manager to provide and maintain an accurate status of the approved configuration of platforms and technical equipment managed by HSPO. This includes monitoring and control of engineering change activities, executing configuration management activities, and governing technical data management.

As a Configuration Officer, you will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex technical configuration work and accountable to ensure you have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. You will have in-depth knowledge of configuration management and systems engineering, and will be responsible for the development, implementation, surveillance and review of policies and procedures.

**About our Team**
The Hydrographic System Project Office operates within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group, as a part of the Maritime Sustainment Division, within the Specialist Systems Branch. HSPO supports Navy Hydrographic and Army Amphibious capabilities. As part of NSSG, HSPO is evolving into the Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM) being progressed under Plan Galileo. It is a new national, integrated approach that is delivering a continuous sustainment environment to support Continuous Naval Shipbuilding.

HSPO is seeking a committed and confident practitioner to fill the APS6 Configuration Officer position.
- Ability to assess and review technical packages and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions in configuration management
- Understanding of the main attributes and limitations of the configuration and maintenance management tools to support configuration management processes including fitted equipment management, work & resource management, condition/performance monitoring, decision support tools
- Appropriate use of information systems in delivering asset lifecycle outputs
- Understanding of basic Configuration Management concepts.
- Effective stakeholder engagement
- Ability to develop and maintain harmonious relationships (internal and external to the organisation)
- Service Orientation (customer centred approach, accountability, seamless delivery).
