**The Role**
The APS 6 Maritime Program Coordinator is responsible for providing Project Support and coordination of all maintenance projects managed by RMC-W. This position is responsible for reporting on, and providing confirmation that, RMP-W deliverables and KPI’s are in accordance with the Contract.

This position is accountable to the RMC-W Maintenance Demand Operations Manager. Duties include but not limited to:

- Monitoring the planning and execution of maintenance projects utilising assessment tools and developing tools.
- Provide operational support to RMC-W management, facilitate administrative and coordination of maintenance project requirements.
- Lead the development and maintenance of project planning and processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, complex correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
- Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.
- Assess and adjust project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Resolve problems using expertise, identifying alternative courses of action.
- Provide operational support to project management and facilitate administrative and coordination requirements.

RMC-W resides within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) / Maritime Sustainment Division (MSD) / Maintenance Branch, with our headquarters located in Henderson, WA. The RMC-W is an integrated workforce comprising military and APS staff at a range of levels.

The role of RMC-W is to provide maritime sustainment to the Royal Australian Navy surface ships via a contractual arrangement with Babcock (Regional Maintenance Provider - West). In addition to RMC-W in Henderson, there are other regional maintenance centres located in Sydney, Cairns and Darwin. Collectively (with Defence Industry) we provide Defence capability to both the Surface Combatant Fleet and Minor Warfare vessels.
- Desirable to hold a Diploma or Cert IV in Project Management (Australian Qualification Framework or similar), but not mandatory.
- Demonstrate experience of project management on Defence or civilian projects.
- Demonstrate understanding of Defence project requirements.
- Working knowledge of Defence project policies and systems.
- Demonstrate ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, builds on relationships and engages with stakeholders.
- Highly developed written and verbal communications.
- Demonstrate initiative and provide sound judgement.
