The Manager (Reporting and Governance) will support the development and implementation of key funding and delivery initiatives, support the key committees that provide oversight, and ensure that reporting and underlying data systems accurately reflect and monitor progress. The role will be part of the Surgery Recovery and Reform team that is responsible for managing and monitoring implementation of additional planned surgery activity that is being delivered as part of the Government's $1.5 billion Surgery Reform and Recovery Plan. The program of work will also be a critical intersection with other strategic projects focused on health system demand and capacity including systemwide patient flow and performance improvement. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate high level expertise in managing a team in a high profile and fast paced environment. You will be an effective and responsive project leader who works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to build and influence key internal and external relationships to deliver a shared commitment and coordinated implementation. You will be recognised for your expertise in delivering change in complex environments, your deep understanding of the Victorian health system and have a strong grasp of hospital system performance and planned surgery datasets.
Accountabilities
- Provide high quality business intelligence, authoritative advice and sound policy and project recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research.
- Oversee the development of policy and project initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Share your expertise with others with a focus on building capability across the team and broader department.
- Work across multiple projects, including designing and managing complex projects, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to meet emerging and significant work pressures and demands, as required.
- Review and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs and cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues.
- Pro-actively build and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate collaboration across the department and with key external stakeholders.
- Represent the department on key stakeholder committees and support the operation of consultative groups concerned with achieving government and departmental objectives, lead relevant committee and governance processes.
- Respond flexibly and adapt approaches in order to deliver outcomes in the face of uncertainty.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
