About us
The Integrity, Legal and Law Reform (ILLR) group provides policy advice and support on criminal law, civil law, and court and tribunal matters for which the Attorney-General is responsible.
The Justice Economics and System Reform (JESR) branch sits within ILLR and leads strategic justice system policy and reform relating to courts and key entities across the justice sector. JESR aims to improve the interconnection and operation of the justice system to inform whole-of-justice strategic decision making through policy, process and budget reforms.
About the role
**The Manager position will sit in JESR, which**:
- leads budget and performance improvements (with a focus on the Victorian courts and tribunals), which includes monitoring the performance of, and economic and financial condition of the justice system, drawing on a variety of data, reports, and other resources, and
- identifies and delivers system-level reforms, which includes active stewardship of the justice system to improve outcomes, performance and access to justice for all users.
The advertised Manager role will be responsible for leading a small team of policy officers to prepare complex briefings and advice and develop and implement policy proposals relating to cross justice system reforms.
About you
- experience in leading and managing the development and delivery of large-scale policy, strategy and reform projects
- knowledge and experience in leading and managing budget and performance teams, including driving financial and performance improvements, and
- people leadership and management experience.
