The Principal Analyst will play a lead role in delivering information products to support performance monitoring of the Government's Surgery Recovery and Reform program and coordinating reforms to existing data collection and reporting to support system improvements to surgical services within Victoria.
The successful applicant will have excellent conceptual and analytical skills, effective communication and stakeholder liaison skills, expertise in performance measurement and reporting, a sound understanding of the Victorian health system and experience in using key administrative datasets for health system performance monitoring.
The role operates in a dynamic environment and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and across a broad range of stakeholders to deliver rapid and accurate reporting products will be a key success factor.

Accountabilities
- Lead the design, development, documentation and deployment of key performance metrics and business intelligence products to support the Surgery Recovery and Reform Program and other high-priority projects, including the design and production of data visualisations and dashboards for executive, government and health sector stakeholders.
- Lead engagement, as required, with relevant business units to ensure all necessary data acquisition and delivery processes are in place to support the availability of accurate and timely business intelligence and performance reports to authenticated users.
- Review relevant specifications of key performance indicators relating to the Agency's reporting with a particular focus on those used to inform the new interactive portal.
- Engage with relevant staff to ensure the VAHI's information for reporting on the digital platform is meaningful and accurate information.
- Inform report development and production including data visualisations, interpreting results to support effective transition from static to digital reporting.
