The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (DRMDW) drives growth for Queensland by managing sustainable water resources, leading innovation in manufacturing, and developing our regions. From our offices in Brisbane and a network of regional offices and manufacturing hubs, more than 580 DRDMW staff work to create a Queensland where communities, businesses and water resources are sustainable and resilient.
The position provides high quality executive correspondence and administrative support services to the offices of the Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water and the Director-General. You will provide consistent and reliable support and form effective working relationships with key stakeholders from all business groups in the department, including senior executives and their staff.
What you will be doingAs the Correspondence Officer, you will be responsible for providing support to key stakeholders by: - Monitoring and actioning the department's generic mailboxes to provide support and advice including incoming requests; finalising signed correspondence and briefing material to ensure work is prioritised and actioned in a timely manner. Conducting daily status reporting and providing analysis and proposed actions for ministerial and Director-General correspondence to meet service standards and on time delivery. Assessing and managing quality assurance matters in line with the department's style guide and templates for all documents and correspondence, including liaising with the department liaison officer and other departmental officers. Ensuring all record management activities are undertaken and completed according to the department's recordkeeping policies. Maintaining a high-level understanding and knowledge of DRDMW's Ministerial and Executive Correspondence System (MECS) and record keeping system (eDOCS). Participating as an effective team member encouraging an environment of continuous improvement and adoption of best practice.
Role requirements While not mandatory, it would be preferable for the applicant to have comprehensive understanding and experience in the use of MECS and eDOCS.
