**About the Division**

IMTD is responsible for supporting one of the largest technology networks in Victoria and leading the department's technology, digital capability, business systems and digital transformation. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students.

IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

**About the Role**

A fantastic Ongoing opportunity is available for a Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to join the team in providing support to the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD).

This position reports into the Manager Procurement and Contract Management Services in the Business Services Branch of IMTD.

Working collaboratively with IMTD managers and stakeholders you will be responsible for the management of software assets (and licencing) for the department.

As the Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist, you will lead the management of the function as well as its continuous improvement in line with industry standards such as ITIL.

Some of your duties will include:

- Developing and implementing a Software Asset Management Framework
- Managing the Software Asset Register and reporting on software assets
- Optimise software licensing, managing risk and unauthorised software deployment

- High level skills in research, analysis and reporting
- Strong consultation skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in planning, prioritising and organising workloads to agreed timeframes
- Well-developed written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage attention to detail to resolve discrepancies and disputes.

**Desirable**Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
