About the Role
As a Director, Office of Racing, your key responsibilities will include to:
- Lead and manage a team with responsibility for strategic policy design and delivery, as well as development and implementation of governance frameworks, related to racing in Queensland
- Facilitate the strategic priority of a sustainable racing industry through the administration of racing industry grant programs and administrative oversight of the Racing Act 2002, including supporting the Director-General and Minister in their exercise of relevant functions, and development of racing industry governance reforms as required.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships and strategic relationships with industry, relevant government agencies to deliver the government's priorities, policy and programs.
- Facilitate collaborative working relationships across the department to enhance engagement with, and contribution to, government priorities.
- Monitor stakeholder attitudes and priorities, and the department's performance in relation to racing, and effectively influence the direction of associated priorities and programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current and emergent departmental, and governmental policy, regulatory, legislative and program issues in relation to racing.
