We’ve been around for a long time - 138 years in fact. Over that time, we’ve seen and learnt a lot. That makes us the most experienced and knowledgeable provider of vision services in South Australia. But our range of services is also what makes us stand apart. Since 2020, our Employment Services have also been assisting people who are deaf and hard of hearing through Your Employment Success (YES) and people with Neurological, ABI, Psychiatric, Intellectual and Learning Disabilities through Making Jobs Possible (MJP).

See Differently is looking for a
**full-time Support Officer - Auslan** to work as part of the See Differently Employment Services Team on the Disability Employment Services (DES) Program. In the past few years our team has successfully assisted hundreds of individuals with disability find and secure suitable long-term employment, and our Support Officers help these people to keep their jobs.
Responsible to the Employment Services Team Manager for the provision of DES Employment Services and NDIS for people with a disability.
**Your duties will include**:
- Provision of workplace and other supports for people with a disability by facilitating case management of clients.
- Assessing the needs of clients with a disability in terms of work skills, and support requirements.
- To provide appropriate intervention strategies that will assist workers whose employment is at risk due to the impact of a disability.
- Undertake client interviews, plan negotiation, record keeping, system records.
- Provide regular mentoring support to Auslan Administrative staff to develop their ability to effectively provide Auslan signing assistance to other staff as a communication aide.
- Identify skills gaps and provide supports to remove barriers for clients currently gainfully employed.
- Assist Employment Services team to achieve employment outcomes through direct contacts, reverse marketing, and networking.
- Contribute to the achievement of DES-ESS and NDIS recognised outcomes and NDIS individual plan goals and employment services financial targets.
- Provide post placement and ongoing support to clients, including liaison with employers to assist in the achievement of sustainable employment. Assess the needs of workers whose job is at risk due to their disability and negotiate with employers to assist clients to retain their position.
- Work with a range of providers, health professionals and other services staff to meet the needs of clients.
- Operate computer systems including use of ESS Web, Microsoft Office products and See Differently internal systems as required.
Some intrastate travel and/or out of hours work may be required to support Employment Services.

- Qualification in Auslan is essential.
- Ability to work toward and deliver on KPIs.
- Must have an ability to understand the issues affecting job seekers and employees who have a disability including those from all types of backgrounds and cultures.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to assist and motivate clients to maintain employment, overcome barriers and achieve their goals including relationship building with employers.
- Have a good understanding of adaptive technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and a high standard of competency in all communication (Auslan, verbal and written) methods.
- Good report writing and record keeping skills.
