The role of the Venue Manager is to manage all aspects of the business, operating and maintaining the unit to maximise profitability while ensuring that company standards, policies and procedures are maintained. The role can be subdivided into these key accountabilities.

About the role

OPERATIONAL
- Ensure the Restaurant complies with all legislation
- Ensure that the restaurant is effectively managed and staffed at all times
- Monitor the quality of food and service to make sure they are in accordance with company and brand standards.
- Ensure the restaurant is run to the highest standards
- Completes and updates an effective business plan for the restaurant

FINANCIAL
- Manage labour, stock and overhead costs in line with the budget to achieve set targets, and ensure that these are recorded correctly promptly and accurately
- Maximise profit through driving sales and controlling margins
- Identify and solve any problems that affect sales and profit
- Report accurate purchase costs by conducting / managing a full weekly stock take and maintaining accurate daily purchase sheets.
- Conduct labour forecasts to effectively manage the wage cost.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Ensure that all employees are trained to the minimum legal requirements
- Effectively delegate tasks to trained personnel to ensure maximum sales, profit, standards and legal compliance whilst completing all administrative tasks
- Recruit and successfully induct the correct calibre of staff who are passionate about good customer relations.
- Use consistent practices when managing staff and take appropriate corrective action in response to performance problems.

MARKETING/COMMS
- Monitor your competitors regularly, feeding back all commercial ideas to your operations manager and head office
- Contribute to the further development of the brand
- Support and deliver business partners marketing activities
