Position Title: Fundraising, Communication & Marketing Officer
Location: Gilles Plains, Adelaide SA Employment Type: Part time 0.6 FTE
Reports To: General Manager Community and Education
About the Role
Royal Life Saving South Australia is more than a water safety organisation—we're a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a leading voice in drowning prevention, community wellbeing, and sector advocacy. We're seeking a strategic communicator and fundraiser to help amplify our impact across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver fundraising campaigns that inspire action and support our RTO programs
- Manage donor communications, social media, newsletters, and stakeholder engagement
- Create marketing materials that reflect our values and reach diverse audiences
- Lead events and donor journeys that build long-term relationships
- Collaborate across teams to share impact stories and advocacy wins
- Track performance and report outcomes that support strategic growth and board reporting
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Proven experience designing and delivering fundraising campaigns, donor journeys, and appeals that meet financial targets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives across digital and print platforms.
- Proficiency with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, Meta Business Suite, and basic website CMS platforms.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and community groups, including culturally diverse audiences.
- Experience managing timelines, budgets, and KPIs across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Genuine commitment to drowning prevention, community wellbeing, and inclusive access to lifesaving education.
Familiarity with the role of Registered Training Organisations in community education and public health.
Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations

- Understanding of advocacy strategy, public health messaging, or policy engagement within the NFP or education sectors.
- Ability to produce visual assets, videos, or infographics that support campaigns and stakeholder communications.
- Experience using donor databases or CRM platforms to segment audiences and track engagement.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising or stakeholder events, including logistics and promotion.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Ability to interpret campaign metrics, donor trends, and engagement data to inform strategy and board reporting.
