Job Introduction
The Head of Commercial Finance has overall responsibility of the Australian finance function end to end. This position is integral to ensuring the FP&A/Commercial and business partnering needs are met for the Australian business, working closely with the EVP & GM of international markets, local heads of department in Australia and international finance team located overseas. This role also supports the EVP & GM with business partnering needs across International markets (Aus and EMEA). The head of finance is responsible for ensuring the Australian Actuals and Reporting function runs smoothly, including statutory tax and audit.

Main Responsibilities
- Prepare budgets/forecasts at each cycle including analysis and presentation to management
- Business partner with EVP & GM International markets for overview of international markets
- Business partner with local heads of department for local Australian business
- Commercial finance support for contracts, new business cases and business decisions
- Work with strategy and central teams on mid/long range planning process and other projects as required
- Manage cashflow requirements in-line with shareholder funding
- Ensure end to end Finance function in Australia runs smoothly
- Prepare month end reports for monthly consolidated reporting for the UK and other ad-hoc requests
- Manage local analytics for AUS subscriber reporting
- Manage & oversee the Actuals and reporting function for Australia; providing support and review of all work
- Support and manage 1 x Financial Accountant
- Overall responsibility for monthly and monthly/annual tax requirements and annual statutory audit
- Manage relationship with IBM alongside Financial Accountant

- 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commercial outlook with a practical approach to business issues
- Strong Finance knowledge
- SAP experience and strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience in liaising with external auditors and meeting auditors requirements
- Understanding of IFRS and Australian tax rules
- Media, SVOD experience an advantage
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Accounting qualification (CPA / CA qualified)
