ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to an experienced and elite CFO, this Head of Finance will support the delivery of major finance objectives as the organisation aims to continue its growth journey. The Head of Finance will act as a true partner and 2IC to the Executive Leadership Team to provide ongoing strategic support, change management, transformation and efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading and driving new system upgrades and improvements.

As the Head of Finance, you will take full ownership for the strategic delivery of business results. The Head of Finance has primary day-to-day responsibility for shaping business strategies to add value beyond finance across a broad range of stakeholders and providing leadership to the finance team. The key success factor will be your ability to business partner and lead a team through the development of performance targets and delivery of group results.

This role not only requires an excellent technical and analytical mind but also someone that can think outside of the box and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to an experienced and elite CFO and working closely with the senior leadership team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership - Maintain a team ensuring engagement and actively supporting individual professional development;
  • ­Financial Management - Lead the financial accounting function in delivering month-end, half-year and year-end closing as well as preparing monthly management accounts and analysis;
  • Strategic advisory – Partner with the CFO and CEO to drive the group's strategic roadmap;
  • Commercial - Together with the executive leadership team, take ownership for financial and commercial risk, particularly around delivering plans to execute strategic initiatives and meet forecasted revenue and EBIT;
  • Compliance & Governance - Ensure company compliance across payroll, tax and business activity lodgement;
  • Process & Systems Improvement - Spearhead improvement, best practise and finance transformation across the business.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You are a CA/CPA qualified Head of Finance/Financial Controller/Senior Finance Manager and possess a nurturing leadership style with the ability to engage and inspire your people. You consider business partnering a key strength and have the ability to work with senior stakeholders. You are now looking to fast track your growth towards a highly commercial and strategic Financial Controller position in a high performing organisation. In addition, you will have:

  • Strong technical accounting reporting skills, knowledge of AASB standards and local tax.
  • Commercial finance acumen with a proven track record of actively driving commercial agendas across the business.
  • Experience implementing, delivering and managing new systems and reporting tools.
  • Key eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of key stakeholders.
  • Pro-active and customer focused mind set.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Superior stakeholder management, including advanced influencing and negotiation skills.
